Defeat, you decide (EXTRA CREDIT)

Well, I hope it will not make the last entry in my blog, I really enjoy this project. It was a different experience; all I can do is thanking to you Miss Kelsey.
Defeat, it is a very common word in our society today. For me, the defeat means more than just losing. The defeat is a medium that helps us learn from our mistakes and so that they can be corrected and move on with our lives over time and without complication. I do not think there is one person in the world that has not had a direct confrontation with a defeat. We have all been defeated in something, however insignificant. The losses usually result in a loss but if we have a positive attitude we can win some of that defeat. I have been defeated many times, I'll tell some stories important to me. It was in 2004, we were in a football final in Futeca Z.14, were playing a good game, after having had a regular season all year. We arrived at these bodies for the good work of the whole team. I finish the game tied 4-4. Everyone was supporting your favorite team. Amid shouts and cheers penalty’s begins five to decide the champion of that season. We started winning, but the other team tied for every shot us getting into. Finally, I have the last penalty shoot. Many people say that the fifth penalty is the most difficult; I never take importance to that. I hit the ball with all my might, the ball crashed into one of the poles, bounced off another and eventually out of the frame. I failed the shot. The other team finally he scored the goal and the won the final, you could say my fault, but nobody wanted to blame everyone. It was disappointing as the failure of this shot. It was a big defeat because we lose the championship. Our coach after the coach made us practice penalty’s, and spoke words that to this day I carry in my mind: "Never in the history of football has been a team that has not known defeat, but if teams learn from them ". Always in the competitions will be a winner and a loser.
was about to have died in some kind of accident. I do not give in to sleep at that time. I remember it was the May 1, 2003, I was playing in the garage of my old house with my scooter. I was moving at high speed, I get velocity; I was going too fast that I was unable to stop the scooter. I was going in the direction of the door and could not stop. I entered in panic; I put my hands to stop in the door, for my bad luck put the arm in a glass. As he had great speed, broke the glass and cut my forearm and arm, the cut more alarming was the arm. I had a cut of about 15 cm long and the depth was great, could see the bone and the layers of flesh, muscle and fat. Get comfortable with my mom, I did not know the extent of my injury, I was just looking out of her blood. Thank God that day had come to visit my uncles. My mom screamed and went to get a piece of clothing to apply a tourniquet. My mom entered in a shock state because of that, my uncle took the lead to take me to hospital. I remember we were on the car and my mom told me that I did not sleep, I made a great effort to stay awake, he was weak but do not let me win. Finally we arrived at the emergency hospital and between one to the operating room. When I woke my mom told me that the doctor mentioned that if I had cut a few millimeters to the left would have cut the main vein that carries blood to the hand. Also she told me that the doctors had said that if I had slept in a coma could be due to loss of blood. I left finally learning that must never be defeated under any circumstances. We have to learn from defeat when we lose, but always battle for the win.

My Trunk of Memories (EXTRA CREDIT)

When I start to remember many experiences that happened during my life, I have many, some more memorable than others, but ultimately all are important. All did something to make me the person I am today.

Let’s start from the smallest. I remember in second grade there was a music teacher. This man was a talented pianist of our country. Was a good person but sometimes was a little crazy. He began to talk strange things and sometimes he came beaten to teach. I remember coming fairly beaten. One day a friend of my brother and told my friends that my music teacher got angry and got mad when someone, annoy, made him sound like a parrot. Well if the teacher seemed to parrot everything he repeated. We did not believe him, and then decided to go see for ourselves. The teacher was walking down the aisle, my friend quickly made the sound; the teacher began to look as crazy man. We were almost hidden, he cannot see us. I thought that as I had found that if you put in there so we would retreat quietly, but no, my friend made the sound again, only this time louder and longer. The teacher noticed where we were and we went to scold. My friend laughed while the teacher scolded us. He lost patience with us that took us to the principal. The teacher claimed that our failure had to be punished with suspension. My friend and I were quite scared. We did not know what to do. The principal and the teacher discussed our lack. Stressed and frightened we asked the forgiveness to the teacher. The director pointed out that we were sorry for our lack. The manager let us go. The teacher was not happy with that. Finally we went personally to apologize and everything under. This experience was quite terrifying for me because never in my life had been in a situation like this; this experience was very significant that no teacher learned that you have to bother with something that he or she will get angry.

Another experience was when I went with my group of scouts to live with scouts throughout Central America in Panama. It was a difficult but very rewarding as it was leaving a week to Panama and live with all the scouts from Central America. Spend a week out of the country and without my parents that I relief was a bit difficult. I remember me when I was there was no one to tell me that I had to eat or sleep early. At first everything was good, no nagging or correct us. In that place was a free child. Many of my fellow scouts take that badly. I in the early days I was thinking about what my parents think with what I did there. A friend took an excessive amount of sweets. I was so present in my memory as my dad reminded me to eat candy was bad exes. On the last day, my friend asked if I wanted candy, I said no because I had had enough. My friend ate almost all sweet as usual. The next day when we were on the flight back to the country, he fainted because he had the sugar high. He was very ill the days after that situation. This experience taught me not to eat on exes, too, that the advice we give is for a reason, and you have to be responsible when we travel because we never know that could happen.

We have many experiences of our childhood; each one has something in particular. I think every experience we have during our life is important. All leave us a lesson. These experiences can be good or bad. Bad experiences can leave us scarred for life and there are times when people are left traumatized by these experiences. You have to know how to treat them as such hardly brands may be erased from our lives. We must also learn how to overcome them and continue with our lives. Life is like a book of many stories with a beginning, middle and end, then it depends on how we want it to carry.

1st Impression? Make it count

First impressions always count. Well what I've learned over the years. First impressions have made a lot of people look bad seen in front of important people. A first impression speaks a thousand words. But first impressions may not be appropriate, but this does not make us able to judge a person by the impression that he or she gives. A case that touched me was my friend who lives near my house. When I saw him I thought he was weird and hard. He wore black clothes, worn leather jacket, black boots and lots of chains. He wore an Iron Maiden shirt and a kind of gauntlet with metal spikes. I left my house that day in fear. I did not know if it was a good person or not. I know I play because I knew another friend. When struck up conversation scared me more because I said it was satanic. I stop and with a look of surprise away from me there as fast as I could. Spend several days without leaving. I thought Satanists were evil people cursing anyone who came near them. Another was the day I left; well he took the trouble to explain what he did. I was impressed as he spoke calmly and ease of communicating with me after I had left because of fear. Because of this, I realized that my first impression was radically different from the impression and I finally did meet and interact with this person. He is a person with values, he respects other thoughts and he is responsible.

Escribe texto o la dirección de un sitio web, o bien, traduce un documento.
First impressions speak more than a thousand words; a bad first impression is very difficult to arrange it. This happened to a friend mine in my last school. In this story, he will be named Dan. The first day of school, I remember was in 2008, he entered the classroom quietly. What was noticeable was that he did not like work. Many teachers had conflict with. Did not work in any way possible, or their friends could work? At the end of that year was conditioned by the school authorities for being a student who did not work. A teacher put the final work of his class was going to be a project that had great importance as it was practically almost all the rating in its class. The work was assigned by groups, but Dan did not get a group, each group that attended rejected it did not work. Finally came with me, almost pleading with my group to let him work with us. We talk as a group; finally we agreed to integrate Dan to the work group. We worked hard and managed him to finish the job. Dan surprised us as hard work. At present the work we scored with 10. Many teachers that we were asked how they had to work Dan. We only argue that if you can work, only they had that motivation. Dan finally stopped being labeled as the student who does not work. We thanked both that and even today continue to work as when we work with him.

First impressions are always hard. You never know who is behind that face, those clothes, or this person. Be wary indeed. Many people ask: Why first impressions count? Why it lacks the trajectory of the individual? A good impression can be the foundation of a long and lasting friendship or just the cover letter for each person. A bad first impression can make the person who gave it a total loss of confidence in us and never trust us again under any circumstances. People are often left with the first impression you get, and in the future remains for clues to confirm that first impression. A negative first impression can last a lifetime.

We should not be radical, at least I did not let me guide you a first impression, and I am one of those people who want to ensure that the person is well. Sounds a little bit bad, we treat people badly, just because we had a bad first impression from him. We must give a second chance. Everyone's entitled to give a second chance and more to those who need it most.

Different Changes

This second entry for my blog is quite significant for me. Have you ever leave friends, family or people for changing place? This happened to me when I had to change home and also when I changed school. I remember the day that I changed house. It was a big change because where I lived before the weather was mild and sometimes warm, knew many people there because I had lived my whole life there. I grew up there, I learned there, I even crash there are many feelings rediscovered when I return to the place I grew up.

It was hard to change, as I mentioned, climate change, environment, the people I related the size of my room, so were many changes within a few days. When I move was shocking to see how left behind part of my life, a place where I had spent my whole life. When I get my new house the first thing to notice was that the climate was different. Before the weather was mild, here was cold, the most of the time was cloudy and cold. Another big change was that before I shared a room with my brother when I had to change one quarter larger than the previous one and was just for me. In the afternoon heat under a lot and were not prepared for such a climate. The wind was very fast in the evening of that day was a little scared because the wind to many sounds when they hit the window. Moving home was an experience quite difficult now I look at the fruits of it. I know more people, I live in a better place and I have more space for my things.

Another anecdote was when I changed school. It was almost like when I move. In my previous school had spent my whole life. I had my friends since I was in preschool. It was pretty difficult because I was the one who took the decision to change was for something good, I do not regret, but there are strange days where everything we did with my friends at school before. We spent talking about video games, technology and anecdotes from years past. It was a very enjoyable time spent with them. It was starting middle school when I noticed several flaws that the school had not improved. Their level and prestige waned for several years and reach a point where I had to decide if he continued in the same place but left unprepared for college or switch to further improve and be a person of success in the future. It was quite a change difficult. Go on a Thursday at the middle school to make the entrance exam expecting good results. I have in mind when I was in my grandmother's house and called my mom from school saying that I had accepted. When I communicate what was a mixture of feelings. I was happy because I had accomplished something that I set but I also felt sad about leaving friends many years ago. The first day in the course of adaptation was difficult, whether it was in November, get into a class of unknown people to adapt. The first days were quiet and lonely. Spend my break was just walking and sitting difficult. Over the days several people were interested in me. I asked around, seemed like an interrogation. Finish the course with good grades and enter college. The first day of school was a bit hard, knew only the new people and a few that were on my course of adaptation between the class and to my luck I touch a person who was new. I think since then we support each other because the two were in the same position. Then over time I was doing a number of friends I'm proud to have them.

Change of place is difficult but with a little enthusiasm and positivity we can get that experience is pleasant and enjoyable. Leaving loved ones behind is difficult, but cannot get over is even more difficult. Today I am happy and grateful to have changed. I look how I was before and feel that I have improved my decisions and made me the way I am now. Always look positively can change our negative thoughts.

Weather Chronicles

Well this is the first entry in my blog; the weather today has been disastrous for any country. We have the example of Hurricane Irene in New York or just a thunderstorm in our beloved country, Guatemala. Something close to spend my last week was like this: on Sunday my dad asked me to accompany him to his basketball game that was far from my house. I like a good son agreed to accompany him. At the end of his party started back to my house, do not spend more than 5 minutes and started to rain hard. Honestly if we had a lot of visibility to 3 meters ahead. The car was passing the street like a boat in the middle of river. It was very difficult to go from there, but finally we made it. We go from town to my house and under a little rain, but when we got to my house hail began to fall. Key while the garden of my house was no longer green had a layer of hail that impressed me. The next day reading the newspaper I saw a picture of where we and look clearly how the water can throw off the walls of several industries near there. Thank God we do not pass anything. These days it has been noted far as storms and hurricanes can affect a large and a small country like ours. One such person watches movies in the cinema and television like The Day After Tomorrow and begins to think that the world does not reach such a level that will have to remove humans from the earth with a series of natural disasters that are serving in our days.

Each day that passes with the pollution that is created in each country makes our planet start charging a lot of damage that can end the world in a matter of some natural disasters such as earthquakes, acid rain, volcanoes, tsunamis and the list goes on.
It's a little sad to see people in most need are affected by the inclement weather and the worst is that nobody takes preventive measures. Something happens in our country is that after these things happen; you begin to give courses or drills to be prepared. Why not make it possible to prevent it? Be aware that the world is changing in many ways, technology, transportation and much more. The technology is becoming more easily disposable discard it and throw away material so knowing that it takes years or even centuries to degrade. Another mine was experiencing a cell phone used to years ago had saved it. Did you think something happened to him? Nothing happened. Almost all the things that are being used today are made from recyclable material. There are few exceptions but hardly people buy them. All this makes the world begins to decay and causes a series of climatic events that threaten all humanity.

Returning to the topic of hurricanes, here in Guatemala there are some hurricanes that have been remembered, not by its magnitude, but for the damages and losses they have caused to the country. The first I remember was Hurricane Mitch hit the country with heavy rains that caused most of drains and underground systems that drain water from the collapse of the city as quickly as possible. Something happened to me in this hurricane was in those days I became ill with hepatitis. My mom took me to the doctor and when we returned to my house we caught the water on a street and the car is turned off. We spent about three hours stuck in the car waiting for the rain to stop. This took longer to stop and then we left there. I remember that the car could see the trees moving abruptly from one place to another, there was trash and leaves flying from one place to another and the rain that was dropped with a impressive strength. The second hurricane I remember was Hurricane Stan, which made the country, suffered millions in losses because most farms where crops were flooded and ruined crops. Many people lost their homes because landslides caused by strong winds. A hurricane that was also of great loss was Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans hold off guard and caused irreparable losses in that city in the United States of America. These examples have made clear that no country is immune to contingencies that make the people aware about caring for the environment and not to underestimate the force of nature.
